What Is a Sound Bath?

A Sound Bath is a meditative experience that involves using therapeutic-grade instruments such as Crystal singing bowls, Himalayan bowls, softly played drums, gongs, and chimes to create different frequencies that lull the body and mind into deep relaxation and rest.

Contrary to the name, there are no baths involved in a Sound Bath session. The idea is that you’re bathed in the sounds around you.

Sound Baths have been around for thousands of years and are believed to have originated in Greece, Egypt and India. They are known to have many benefits, including easing anxiety, improving sleep, boosting your mood, greater mental clarity, and promoting the body to come back into a state of homeostasis and harmony.

Sound therapy is a very effective and non-intrusive way to ease stress and combat the chaos of modern life, and is as popular as breathwork and meditation in doing so.

  • You’ll be asked to lie down or sit comfortably on a mat or cushion (recliner chairs are available if pre-booked)
  • A range of instruments will be used to create sounds of certain frequencies, with gaps of silence (you will be gently guided back at the end of the session).
  • You’ll be encouraged to focus on your breath and the sounds around you.
  • The session will last approximately 1 hour 15mins.
  • It is important to drink lots of water after a sound bath as the body can detox during this time.
  • Allow time after your sound bath for rest as the benefits will still be happening for 24-48 hours afterwards.
  • Sound induced epilepsy
  • First trimester of pregnancy
  • Severe mental health issues
